Pete Skinner

Pete was born in Blackpool and has lived there all his life (well, not yet.) He started playing guitar when he was eight and played his first payed gig when he was only 13 (a double bass in a Jazz trio.) When he left school at 15 he formed a folk group with some of his ex-school chums and played round the local clubs. See picture.


Over the years Pete has played in several groups ranging from traditional folk, Blugrass/country and western and even a Banjo band. He has appeared on Radio and television, has written several songs and has been published.

Pete has played with the following groups

Folk Duo along with Pete Chittock

The Shoal (members include John (Dutch) Holland and Derek and Angela Lasky)

The Brewers (including Bernie Brewin, Pete Chittock, Micheal Woolhouse, Pete O'Callaghan)

Paragon Banjo Band (too many to mention!!)

The Two Brewers along with Pete O'Callaghan

Local Gentry (including Dave Cooper, Bernie Brewin and Ian Holland)

Unamed Band (including Ron Strachan, Barbara Livingstone and Eileen Brooks)

Grog (including Ron Frazer and Eileen Brooks)

The Bluegrass Boys (including Ron Frazer and Eileen Brooks)

Grog +1 a cassette tape with Eileen Brooks and the late Colin Brooks

Season tour with Eric the "Yank"

Clansfolk (including Eileen Skinner (nee Brooks) and Simon Skinner

As well as the above he has had the pleasure of playing with many other artists over the years, including a radio show with Ian Gartside.
